Liquid Ingress Test Equipment
ED&D liquid ingress test equipment supports drip, rain, spray, oscillating-tube, water-jet, and specimen-rotation test methods. Select equipment from the governing standard, ingress level, specimen dimensions, water-flow and pressure requirements, and required specimen motion.
Tell us the exact ingress level, governing standard, specimen size, and whether you need drip, spray, jet, pump, or turntable support.
Selecting Liquid Ingress Test Equipment
Liquid ingress methods use different apparatus for dripping water, spraying or splashing water, directed water jets, and specimen rotation. The required equipment depends on the exact method, including nozzle geometry, flow, pressure, oscillation or rotation, specimen support, exposure angle, and test duration.
Required information: confirm the governing standard, edition, clause, ingress level, specimen dimensions, water requirements, and required specimen motion before selecting equipment.

Liquid Ingress Test Turntables
TT-36 Turntable
The TT-36 supports controlled specimen rotation during liquid-ingress testing.
Use the TT-36 when the governing test arrangement requires repeatable rotation of the specimen during water exposure. Confirm specimen dimensions, weight, rotation requirements, and compatibility with the test setup before ordering.
ET1-02 Drip Box Turntable
Turntable designed to sit on top of the specimen grate of ED&D drip box systems.
Use for drip-box test setups that require specimen rotation on the specimen grate.
Turntable note: choose the TT-36 for general specimen rotation during liquid-ingress testing. Use the ET1-02 when the test setup specifically needs a turntable integrated with the drip-box specimen grate.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between drip, spray, and jet testing?
Drip testing evaluates vertical or tilted dripping water exposure, spray testing evaluates spraying or splashing water, and jet testing evaluates directed water jets at defined nozzle size and pressure.
When should a lab use a handheld spray nozzle instead of an oscillating tube?
That depends on the exact method. Some procedures call for a handheld nozzle arrangement, while others require an oscillating tube with defined radius, angle, and oscillation timing.
What is the difference between JET-03 and JET-03/6K?
JET-03 is used for IPX5 / IPX6 jet testing, while JET-03/6K adds high-pressure capability and the nozzle / pressure configuration needed for IPX6K test arrangements.
Why would a lab need a separate water reservoir and pump system?
Dedicated reservoir and pump systems help produce the required pressure and water delivery stability for repeatable jet testing, especially for higher-pressure methods.
What is the difference between the WTR-01 and WTR-02?
The WTR-01 uses a reservoir and booster pump for IPX5 and IPX6 water supply. The WTR-02 adds variable-speed VFD control and the stated higher-flow capability for IPX6 and UL 50E JET-50 applications.
What does the WTR-PKG add to a WTR water supply system?
The WTR-PKG adds a skid-mounted digital operator station with water-temperature display, Start / Stop pump controls, and a visual status indicator. It centralizes pump management but does not replace the underlying reservoir and pump system.
When is specimen rotation required?
Use specimen rotation when the applicable test method specifies rotation, including the required speed, orientation, and exposure arrangement.
Does one liquid ingress setup cover all IPX levels?
Not usually. Different ingress levels often require different equipment such as drip boxes, combo chambers, spray nozzles, oscillating tubes, jet nozzles, and compatible water supply systems.
Send the exact standard and ingress level, plus specimen size and desired test configuration, and identify the required equipment configuration.
